Mandela Day 2024
The overarching objective of Mandela Day is to inspire individuals to take action to help change the world for the better, and in doing so build a global movement for good. The 18th of July has become a national day of volunteerism, philanthropy and donating time, goods, resources and services to a variety of beneficiaries across the country.
This year, Rise Against Hunger Africa will host several large-scale, national events in recognition of the life and service of Nelson Mandela. These events provide a platform for corporate volunteers to give 67 minutes of their time and pack nutritious meals. For a donation of R12 500.00 per team, corporates are encouraged to send teams of 12 – 18 staff members to participate and represent their organisation.
These meals will be distributed to Early Childhood Development centres which RAH Africa supports. The ECD Connect program links good nutrition with education for thousands of children during their developmental years.
Registration forms are available below for each location as soon as dates and venues are confirmed. If you would like to offer your venue, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Our ongoing theme of, “It Starts With a Meal”, highlights that we believe when children start their lives by receiving nutritious food during their formative years, they have an increased chance of developing both physically and mentally, which sets their lives on track for a better future.
